Our range of research options means there is a package to suit your needs and budget. We can research families with roots in most parts of the UK, and we specialise in Welsh genealogy.

Our packages are meticulously researched using official sources and make great gifts. From attractive family history books to simpler, e-mailed reports, we have an option to suit your needs.

All reports are designed from scratch and are not generated from generic family tree software templates.

This budget package is suitable if you would like a simple overview of your family history, presented primarily as a family tree with explanatory notes.

It is more limited than the in-depth options, but you also have the opportunity of adding to the range of historical sources or branches traced.

For those who would like to research one branch of their family in more depth.

We will trace the history back from one ancestor of your choice (e.g. your paternal grandfather), to around the early years of the 19th century, and will present the history in the form of a detailed narrative.

Our most popular package, it involves researching two branches, following them from the ancestors of your choice (e.g. your maternal grandparents) back to around 1800 or, when sources allow, back into the late 18th century. The history will be presented in a detailed narrative. Choose from a soft-back family history book or unbound option.

This package is the most comprehensive option. It presents the history in a detailed narrative and researches all traceable stems back to around the late 18th century or, when sources allow, further back into the 18th century. Choose from a hard-back family history book or unbound option.

Tailor-made Research

We recommend a Tailor-made Package if:

the research starts at an event which took place during the mid or first half of the 19th century
you wish to trace descendants (see Probate & Living Relatives section)
you need some specific information on one or more ancestors (e.g. research into a particular event in your ancestor's life that may be reported in a newspaper article or court case)

As the nature of each tailor-made project varies, so will the cost of each project, please contact us and we will provide you with an estimate. Currently, hourly costs range between £30 and £45 (which includes travel if required), dependent on the nature and complexity of the research, with certificates and copies of documents charged at cost.

Please note: Unfortunately we no longer carry out look-ups nor are we able to offer a review or verification service unless the review forms part of a wider research project.

Your Welsh Ancestors (YWA) is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998, and the information you supply to us, such as contact details, will be handled in the strictest confidence and used only for our own administrative & accounting purposes. Your personal data will never be sold to third parties. Details (such as names and dates of birth) you supply to us as part of a commissioned project will similarly be handled in the strictest confidence and will not be shared with third parties unless requested or consented by you. The findings of any research project will only be shared with you as our client, unless you give us your permission to share that information with specific individuals.

N.B. Your Welsh Ancestors does not take part in any unsolicited e-mail or telephone marketing campaigns or social media advertising.
