General genealogy, Welsh ancestors and family history​

 

Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA)

is an accredited group of professional researchers and specialists available for a number of different commissions in family history research, genealogy, heraldry, record searching and other specialist fields.

The National Library of Wales offers access to books, maps, manuscripts, archives, pictures, photographs and electronic resources relating to Wales and the Welsh people, especially Welsh history, culture and family history.

Genuki – Genealogical research information about Wales.

Wales Ohio Project – Online manuscripts chronicling the history of Welsh settlers in Ohio.

Association of Family History Societies of Wales, with details of its member societies, and guidance on researching Welsh sources, including census schedules completed in Welsh.

Gwynedd Family History Society – Resources and information about the Gwynedd area - catering for people with Gwynedd ancestry.

Cymru 1914 – The Welsh experience of the First World War. A searchable online archive which includes newspaper articles, letters, photos and other resources.

BBC Wales' History Pages – A comprehensive history of Wales, including family history, from the BBC.

People's Colection Wales – An excellent online repository of Welsh cultural and historical items.
