How do you carry out the research?

• We carry out initial free telephone or e-mail consultations. The information supplied by you will confirm whether the research is viable in the geographic area we cover and in the timescale required by you.
• The research work will start upon receipt of payment and after a seven day cooling off period.
• Full terms and conditions will be sent to you after the initial consultation and before you have placed your order.

What information do you need before you start researching?
We will need enough information from you beforehand to help make the project viable, for example:

• Your parents' names and birth dates.
• Grandparents' names and birth dates (or approximate year of birth).
• Town, parish or county where your parents and grandparents were born. All required information will be discussed during the free consultation.

What areas do you cover?

• For most Packages, we can research families from Wales and England.
• For more in-depth research in county archives, we cover the modern-day counties of Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey in north-west Wales.
• For location photography, we cover the counties of Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey.
• For family history tours we cover the county of Gwynedd (the old counties of Caernarfonshire and Merionethshire).
• From time to time we may be able to carry out research related to other areas of the UK, please contact us for more information.

How long does the research take?
Following receipt of payment and a seven day cooling off period, we aim to complete the packages as follows:

• Single Line Package: within 2 to 4 weeks.
• Two Line Package: 3 to 5 weeks.
• Deluxe package: 6 to 8 weeks.
• The amount of time needed to complete tailored packages will vary according to the type and range of information needed.
• We will keep you informed of progress with regular updates.
• Please note however that at certain busy periods, or with more complex projects the research may take longer, but in these circumstances we will always let you know after the initial consultation how long we estimate the research will take.

How do I pay?
Once we have discussed your project, we will confirm how much the research will cost. We accept payment via our secure PayPal account or, for UK-based customers, we also accept cheques. PayPal is the preferred method of payment for international clients. To open an account, go to:

You can then sign up for an account by following the instructions on the appropriate PayPal pages. To pay for a research package, do the following:

• From the 'Personal' or 'Individuals' tab, choose the 'Send Money' option. Please copy the following e-mail address into the 'To' box on that page: welsh.ancestors@btinternet.com
• Specify the amount payable, as outlined in the estimate sent to you or as outlined on our website.
• Place your e-mail address in the 'From' box.
• Choose 'Services' in the Purchase box.
• Follow any other instructions as noted by PayPal.

We also accept International Money Transfers (MoneyGram) which you can arrange through a local agent. For a list of local agents, please go to www.moneygram.com

Can you guarantee results?
Results will depend on the quality of information supplied by you, the availability of the resources and the condition of existing resources. We will let you know after the initial consultation if the project is viable.

Can I cancel?
You have a seven day cooling off period from the time of purchase, during which time you can cancel your order. If you cancel in writing within this time and before we have started on the research, then you will receive a full refund.

Do the Package costs include postage?

• Yes, for all UK mainland destinations (Royal Mail first class Recorded Delivery).
• For an extra charge we offer a Special Delivery Next Day option.
• Additional postage charges will apply for overseas customers, please contact us for more information before placing your order.
